La Commission rel\u00e8ve que c\u2019est par sa R\u00e9solution n\u00b0 A\/RES\/72\/161 adopt\u00e9e le 19 d\u00e9cembre 2017 que l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Nations Unies a proclam\u00e9 la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration de la Journ\u00e9e internationale des langues des signes (JILS) le 23 septembre de chaque ann\u00e9e, \u00e0 compter de 2018, afin de mieux sensibiliser sur l\u2019importance des langues des signes pour la pleine r\u00e9alisation des Droits des personnes sourdes et malentendantes ainsi que pour favoriser leur int\u00e9gration sociale et \u00e9conomique. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

La Commission souligne que parmi les enfants atteints d\u2019une d\u00e9ficience auditive en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, les sourds en particulier rencontrent des difficult\u00e9s li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019apprentissage des langues des signes, ce qui entra\u00eene des retards dans l\u2019acquisition des techniques linguistiques y aff\u00e9rentes dus \u00e0 des facteurs politiques et sociologiques qui les emp\u00eachent d\u2019avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des contextes riches en langues des signes.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

La Commission note avec satisfaction que, sur les deux cent vingt (220) recommandations accept\u00e9es par l\u2019\u00c9tat \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de l\u2019adoption du Rapport du passage du Cameroun au 4e cycle de l\u2019Examen p\u00e9riodique universel (EPU) le 26 mars 2024, quatre (4) sont en faveur des personnes en situation de handicap et ont \u00e9t\u00e9 ventil\u00e9es par la CDHC aux structures de l\u2019\u00c9tat ainsi qu\u2019aux organisations de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile (OSC), chacune en ce qui la concerne.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
